the causative verb: make

I happened to watch this vlog of my fave actress and was piqued grammatically by the title of her vlog: What Made My Sister Cry.

Automatically, I thought about my students, especially those who were not fond of learning languages and hated grammar rules.

Basin mangutana sila (Maybe they would ask ) : sister is singular; cry should be CRIES!

OK.

Because of the causative verb MAKE. And the rule says: causative verb plus person PLUS verb in BASE FORM (no s or other suffixes!)

note: other causative verbs are get, help, have, and let.
