tv series review: country princess (philippine title: funny wild girl) 2003

What I like about the story. From the get-go, the viewers are already given a subtle hint about the fate of Lee Eun Hee (Bae Doona). First, that classroom scene where later on she is accused of stealing. Second, the story is replete with twins. Stealing plus twins. Ta-da: a gripping tale that haunts you forever.

There is also a camera shot of the two sisters by the window that it is incumbent of a viewer, especially me, to think about two people who are separated; it is just inviting me to mentally note on an image of crying twins with poignant partition.

Yes, I have slowly riveted to Netflix's It's OK To Not To Be OK. But the plots and pangs of Country Princess/Funny Wild Girl has remained my number 1 cravings for Korean novella: it feeds the funny part of me; it feeds the storyteller in me; it feeds the Asian in me who has always been fond of rags-to-riches stories, er shall I say, stories of two girls whose lives are under switcheroo until the big reveal at the finale!

feeling diaristic

diary #1 my phone. bada bing! it died. there was some numeric command in an ominous dark background. after a few seconds, the background turned light green or was it bluish green. the problem could have been fixed right away, had i seriously read the fine prints. volume down button plus power button. the above nightmare gave me an invaluable lesson.
